$pending on Cancer

More than one quarter of all deaths in the US are due to cancer. Half of all men and a third of all women will get cancer in their lifetime. Breast cancer is the second most frequent cancer that women get.

Americans spend close to 11.5 billion dollars each year on cancer research. All sources. Government, industry and philanthropy.

Do you think that is enough?

Compare this to:

2009 retail dollar value of the US soft drink market -74 billion dollars.

Annual tobacco industry spending on marketing its products nationwide - 13 billion dollars
